During this time of uncertainty, it is becoming increasingly more important to be vigilant and protective of your health, which is why we are sharing our Hand Sanitizer for you to make at home.
When it comes to preventing the spread of infectious diseases like COVID-19, nothing beats good old-fashioned hand washing.
But if water and soap aren’t available, your next best option, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), is to use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer.
With only a handful of ingredients, our all-natural Hand Sanitizer is an ideal alternative for when you can't wash your hands.
2 Cup Aloe Vera Flesh (without the skin) - use a fresh plant from Mexico or topical aloe vera gel
1/3 Cup of 80 Proof Vodka (that’s my favorite) or Rubbing Alcohol which also works but is more drying
20 Drops of Antibacterial + Antiviral Essential Oils: Tea Tree, Clove, Thyme, Cinnamon, Orange, Lavender, Rosemary, Eucalyptus, Lemongrass, Peppermint, etc..). Have fun with it and create your own blend!
2 Tablespoons Vegetable Glycerin
1 Tablespoon Coconut Oil
Important: Watch out for any phototoxic oils which can burn the skin or leave a mark on skin if exposed to sunlight. These include Bergamot, Grapefruit, Lemon and Bitter Orange.
1. Blend all ingredients except essential oils and make the lotion base in the blender or food processor. Drain if necessary.
2. Use essential oils to scent lotion. Use certain oils in moderation (or prescribed) below as they have potential to burn if exposed to sun: Bergamot, Grapefruit, Lemon, Bitter Orange: 24 drops per 1 ounce (30 ml) of carrier sanitizer base.
