Apple and Pear Clafoutis

Fall in love with this vegan version of a classic French dessert.


  • 1 large Fuji apple, peeled, cored, and sliced

  • 2-3 Bartlett pears, cored, and sliced

  • 2 teaspoons coconut oil, plus more for greasing pan

  • 1/3 cup maple syrup

  • ½ teaspoon cinnamon

  • 1 cup finely ground almond meal

  • 4 tablespoons Follow Your Heart VeganEgg

  • 1/8 teaspoon salt

  • ¾ cup coconut cream

  • 2 teaspoon vanilla extract


  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Grease a 7-inch cast iron skillet with coconut oil.

  2. Heat a medium non-stick pan under high heat. Melt 2 teaspoons of coconut oil and sauté the apples and pears for 1 minute. Add the maple syrup and cinnamon; sauté for 2 minutes. Remove from heat and let the fruit sit for 15 minutes.

  3. In a medium mixing bowl, whisk together almond meal, VeganEgg, and salt.

  4. Strain juice from the cooked fruit, then pour juice into the dried ingredients along with coconut cream, and vanilla. Mix until thoroughly combined.

  5. Pour batter into greased skillet. Arrange cooked apples and pears over the batter.

  6. Bake for 35-40 minutes or until the middle is set. Serve immediately.
