Pau D’arco Digestive Tea

Once again this week our small hero from the plant world, Pau D’arco, comes to the rescue. This time we are adding ginger and mint – both with reputations as digestive system allies!
Pau D’arco, also known as stick wood, is truly an amazing and beautiful tree from the South American tropics with a gorgeous canopy of pink blossoms.We love the benefits and flavor it adds to our drinks!
Drink our Pau D’arco digestive alkalizer this week and enjoy a higher state of health!
Pau D’Arco Digestive Tea
Ingredients:
4 cups water
2 tablespoons Pau D’arco bark
1 tablespoon of freshly grated ginger
¼ cup of fresh mint leaves
¼ cup lemon juice
Optional: Sweetener of choice – Maple syrup, sorghum syrup, etc.…
Directions:
In a medium pot, combine water, Pau D’arco bark and grated ginger. Bring to a full boil with the lid on. Reduce heat and simmer for 25 minutes. Add the mint leaves. Cover and steep for 5 minutes.
Pour through a strainer and allow to cool. Add lemon juice, and optional sweetener.
Keep leftover tea in a clean glass bottle. Drink warm or cold.
